Today marks 3⃣ years since the full-scale invasion of Ukraine but, for civilians caught in the crosshairs, it represents another day of dread & fear. It was a privilege to show The Mirror the remarkable work of our medics in Zaporizhzhia hospitals to save limbs 💙💛

Research midwife Alessandra Morelli, who deployed to flood-hit Libya in 2023 as part of the UK EMT Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office-funded response, was recently awarded the humanitarian service medal. She spoke to the BBC about the importance of maternity care in humanitarian crises.
