Let's give an example. Say you earn £60,000, and get a £1,000 pay rise. First of all, this costs your employer £1,150 as they pay over 15% in employer's NICs. Out of the £1,000 paid to you, you hand over £400 in income tax, and £20 in NICs, leaving you with £580. If you have

Everything in the UK is actually getting better, actually. The gates on my gated community are higher, my lactose is now gluten free, my gluten is lactose free, my uber customer rating is now 4.8 stars and no one has tried to steal my phone in over three days. Grand.
