One of big heroes in mycology Prof Lynne Boddy FungusProf in the oral history symposium. How she got into nature as a kid: “I just got on my bike and went out to the country” and advice: “if you get the chance to do something you’re interested in really really go for it #IMC11

Fascinating insights into the diversity of Trichoderma lifestyles and distributions by Priscilla Chaverri for plenary lecture at #IMC11. Great application of FUNGuild Nhu Nguyen to ecologically parse fungal communities in seedlings versus adult trees.

Figures 1 and 4 in this revisit of classic work on mycorrhizal fungi by Koide and @cwfernandez are gems. A great read for those both new and experienced with this symbiosis. link.springer.com/content/pdf/10…

Wonderful seminar by Tadashi Fukami Tadashi Fukami today in the UMN EEB seminar series. Take home message: community ecology is not a mess. Keep up the great work Tad!

Great summary of knowledge gaps about microbial necromass and soil C by Kate Buckeridge at the GSBI Speaks Webinar. I will give a related talk at the Harvard PBI symposium on Monday May 3rd about knowns & unknowns regarding the necrobiome of decaying fungal necromass. #PBI2021

I heard something yesterday in a qualifying exam that is worth tweaking about. My colleague said that science does not advance when you get results consistent with your hypothesis. It is only when you get results that refute your hypothesis sciences truly advances.
