One person’s change can transform a hospital. One hospital’s change can inspire other hospitals. Ms. Bora Kon joined the MPDSR training with a mission: to apply what she learns in her hospital, and to share it with others across Cambodia.

On the occasion of the 36th World Population Day (July 11), Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN MANET, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, stated that “The real crisis is the lack of reproductive health services which limits the ability of people, especially young people.”

UNFPA and ក្រសួងសុខាភិបាល Ministry of Health brought together 200 midwives, nurses, obstetricians, neonatologists, and health staff from provinces for an online training on the EmONC Light Assessment Tool. Thank you to the Australian Government, UNFPA Asia and the Pacific, and MORU.

One moment that deeply impacted her was when a Grade 8 student dropped out to get married. It strengthened her resolve to keep students in school, believing that “When youth and adolescents stay in education longer, child marriage can become a thing of the past.”
