Today, in Adre, #Chad, I met refugees fleeing the brutal conflict in Darfur, #Sudan. Heartbreaking stories of losses & violence. The refugees are arriving exhausted, after long & hazardous journeys to safety. They need lifesaving support & opportunities to restart their lives.

At the #Chad-#Sudan border, in Adre, we witnessed UNHCR and partner trucks crossing into #Darfur carrying urgent life-saving aid to help displaced families. Access and safe passage inside Sudan is crucial to ensure critical support reaches those most in need. #KeepEyesOnSudan

Today, UNHCR Representative Ms Sandrine Desamours hosted HE Dr. Heike Fuller, the Ambassador of Germany to Djibouti. Germany’s significant support helps UNHCR to provide humanitarian assistance to over 33,000 refugees and asylum seekers.
