🛻 One truck. 280,000 people. In Taiz, #Yemen, UNHCR donated a garbage truck—responding to a request from the community—to improve waste collection for displaced and local families alike. Fewer health risks. Cleaner streets. A healthier environment.

📣 Our Global Report 2024 is out. Thanks to donor support, UNHCR protected and assisted 36.4 million displaced and stateless people. But for the first time, less than half of our budget was funded. We need sustained commitment to continue delivering for those who need us most.

In Basateen, I met the dedicated team at a UNHCR-supported clinic serving refugees, displaced Yemenis, and the local community. Their work is a testament to what’s possible with the right support. This #WorldRefugeeDay, I’m proud to stand with them—and with those we serve.

In Sana’a, UNHCR & Safe Road for Peace & Development - SRPD YEMEN marked #WorldRefugeeDay with a special Little Explorers Corner—a space where refugee & asylum-seeking children could draw, paint, play, and just be kids. Because every child deserves a safe space to grow, play, and feel they belong. #WithRefugees

In Aden today, I celebrated #WorldRefugeeDay with refugee and Yemeni youth—singing, dancing, poetry, and games. Moments of joy in a country that has faced so much. Everyone deserves to feel they belong. This is what solidarity looks like.
