A commendable step in achieving solutions for thousands of refugees in #Kenya, giving them the opportunity to contribute to their communities and ultimately improve their lives.

At State House Kenya, Nairobi, launched the Shirika Plan, a landmark initiative that integrates refugees with host communities in our country. This will upgrade our refugee management, shifting from humanitarian dependency to a more inclusive and progressive development model

The #ShirikaPlan is now launched 🇰🇪 This government-led initiative will transition camps into integrated settlements, strengthening Kenya’s approach to refugee inclusion. UNHCR welcomes this step and continues to support policies that enable protection and self-reliance.

UNHCR remains committed to supporting Kenya’s leadership in durable solutions. The #ShirikaPlan is a milestone in refugee inclusion globally, and UNHCR calls on partners to sustain support for this transformative initiative.
