THANK YOU❤️ Because of YOU, we raised $2,750 during #GlowBigRed for UNL Plant Path Grads graduate students 🌱 We are SO appreciative for the support and donations that we received in the last 24 hours ❤ There's (s)no(w) place like Nebraska! ❄🎈

I’m honored and excited to present my lab projects at ISU! Libia F. Gómez-Trejo UNL PSI UNL Department of Plant Pathology

Had a fantastic time at today's PPGSA monthly engagement lunch! We were honored to have Rebecca Roston guide us through the concept of building a mentoring map. Great discussions, great company, and of course, great food! Looking forward to more sessions like this. #Mentorship

Happy retirement to Julie Stevens. Who served in Small grains pathology lab with Dr. Stephen Wegulo at UNL for more than 20 yrs. I am thankful to Julie for her support in my projects! UNL Plant Path Grads

Thanks Saet-Byul Kim for all your support as well as my friends and colleagues for their feedback on my speech! ❤️🌱

From sorghum blushes and the colors of resistance to susceptibility genes in plants and nematodes partnering with fungi, the 2025 Elevator Speech Contest at UNL had it all! Congrats to 3 of our students for representing our department and to Libia F. Gómez-Trejo for taking 🥇 place!

Shilu Dahal, a Institute of Agriculture and Natural Resources University of Nebraska-Lincoln doctoral student in #plantpathology , is collaborating on an innovative, environmentally friendly #biopesticide with DOD funding through NSRI. Great presentation by Wilson Lab UNL🍄 about Cracking the codon code for effector secretion & evolution in rice blast. UNL Department of Plant Pathology UNL Plant Path Grads 👏🏻

Our students did an amazing job at the 2025 Nebraska Plant Science Symposium! Sapana Ghimire won 🥇 place in the Lightning Talk, Eric Anderson 🥇in the Student Talk, ♡ 🥇in the Poster Presentation & Libia F. Gómez-Trejo 🥉place for her poster. Proud of their hard work! Congrats to all!

Big shoutout to kelvin muchiri for his amazing departmental seminar! He tackled challenges of managing soil-borne soybean pathogens, disease diagnostics & pathogen complexities, to issue of fungicide resistance. Insightful, engaging, and a fantastic start! Well done Kelvin!

We had a fantastic seminar by Biwesh Ojha on the antimicrobial potential of the PBL3 secretome focused on targeting human pathogens to addressing antibiotic resistance in plant diseases. His work bridges clinical and agricultural microbiology in impactful ways! UNL Complex Biosystems

Fantastic talk by Amany Gomaa on the genome-wide variation in Tobamovirus and its link to the emergence of Tomato brown rugose fruit virus (ToBRFV). A compelling exploration of viral evolution and resistance dynamics! UNL Department of Plant Pathology

This week, Janis Fomba gave a brilliant seminar on Aegilops longissima and winter wheat resistance to bacterial leaf streak. From field surveys to genomic insights, her research blends pathology and precision to tackle yield loss in 🌾. Stay tuned for more updates soon! #seminars

Powerful slam talk about her research “Rewriting history with natural defenders” . Shilu Dahal you are truly a passionate researcher and incredible speaker. Well done on an amazing talk and representing UNL Plant Path Grads UNL PSI #slamtalkUNL Nebraska Research
