Yesterday, Taylor and I represented UO at MCLS. We presented with colleagues from different universities on math vocabulary and highlighted the components of a University of Oregon Center on Teaching & Learning Grade 2 whole number intervention that enhances "math talk" opportunities for students.

MOCCA is a reading comprehension assessment that helps teachers understand why students may not be comprehending as well as they could. Our research seeks to expand MOCCA for students in second grade and middle school. More at bit.ly/expanded_mocca or email [email protected].


The CA Department of Education approved reading assessment tools Multitudes and DIBELS with mCLASS Lectura for use in school districts statewide. Two of the four approved screeners were developed by COE faculty including Lillian Durán, Gina Biancarosa, Patrick Kennedy, and Cengiz Zopluoglu.
