On Sunday the Tri-Service (URNU, UOTC, UAS) hockey team added a 8-1 win against medics-4s’ to their wining streak in the University of Manchester Campus League. Well played to all!

One of our students joined the Manchester and Salford UOTC for Hillwalking in the Lake District, gaining logbook and navigation experience in the dramatic and snow covered scenery!

On Thursday we were delighted to welcome Gregg Stevenson. Royal Engineer Commando veteran and Paralympic champion! He spoke to us about challenge and adversity and about his work with Op Courage the veterans mental health and wellbeing service.

The Tri-Service hockey team had two matches this weekend in the University of Manchester Campus league. A 7-1 win against Medics 3s followed by 3-1 against Cricket. This has continued our winning streak and catapulted us up the league tables to the top of division two!

Last week, students from URNU Manchester took on exciting roles as crisis actors at Britannia Royal Naval Collage supporting the maritime assessed leadership task MARL. From smugglers to wounded casualties, they added realism helping to prepare future naval leaders!

A hard fought 3-2 win for the URNU Manchester hockey team this weekend in a friendly against Manchester and Salford UOTC, well played to all!

Last Thursday’s training took an unexpected turn with an unidentified viral outbreak… (for exercise)! Senior students coordinated teams through leadership tasks to gather the vital intelligence needed to find a cure, while providing situational reports of the unfolding crisis.

Students from URNU Manchester, Liverpool, Yorkshire, and Northumbria came together for Exercise Northern Plunder at ALTAR training camp. Teams tackled assessed scenario-based leadership exercises, building on their in-unit Command, Leadership, and Management (CLM) training.

On Thursday, URNU Manchester students continued building their skills ahead of this term’s Fast Cruise. First year students learned about firefighting on Royal Navy ships, while second and third years learnt how to use and interpret a ships incident board.

A pleasure to share #VEDay80 with URNU Manchester & old friends from Blind Veterans UK with Military Wives Choirs to celebrate the victory in Europe as well as remember & honour the sacrifices this took. The statue, Victory over Blindness’ stands at our main entrance as a permanent memorial.

OCdt Snelson from URNU Manchester recently completed the Fleet Air Arm Acquaint Programme at RNAS Yeovilton. The week included a flying sortie, visits to Commando Helicopter Force, Wildcat Maritime Force plus career and unit insights. RNAS Yeovilton #URNU

The CO and Cox'n attended an Armed Forces Covenant signing in London last week with the Worshipful Tallow Chandlers. The night ended with a grand dinner attended by 1 Rifles and 206 Sqn RAF. The event symbolized the connection between Tallow Chandlers and the Armed Forces.
