.U.S. Coast Guard Pacific Strike Team is providing safety oversight for the container recovery group at the Port of Long Beach today. Unified Command’s top priority: keep workers & the public safe while assessing site security to prevent further damage. #USCG #LongBeach

Workers, under Unified Command approval, are carefully lifting containers from the water at Port of Long Beach. A minimum of 10 containers have been lifted out of the water. Safety of crews & protection of surrounding area remain top priority throughout operations. #longbeach

The recovery and salvaging phase has begun. 8 more containers were found submerged. Dive teams, salvage crews are on scene working to remove containers from the waters and lashing all unaffected cargo containers from the vessel. Port of Long Beach
