On this Memorial Day, USS Constitution’s crew honors those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. We will always remember them.

This past Memorial Day, Cmdr. Crystal Schaefer, 78th Commanding Officer of USS Constitution, spoke at a Memorial Day service in Medford, WI. Following the ceremony, Cmdr. Schaefer was privileged to meet John McMurry, the last surviving WWII veteran in Taylor County, WI.

USS Constitution will go underway on Friday, June 6 at 10 a.m.—visible from Boston Harborwalk, Castle Island & Charlestown Navy Yard. A 21-gun salute will happen at approximately 11:30 a.m. from Fort Independence. The ship will open for public tours at 3 p.m. #USSConstitution

Today, USS Constitution got underway to honor the 81st anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, Allied forces stormed the beaches of Normandy in the largest seaborne invasion in history—launching Operation Overlord to liberate Nazi-occupied France.
