UWA’s Lecturer in Science Communication and Coordinator of the Masters of Science Communication, Dr Heather Bray giving a talk at the #comms2inspire conference! #inspiring #comms2inspire2022 #scicomm #sciencecommunication #inspirewa

So lovely to see our students participating in #comm2inspire today. They ushered, filmed, photographed, chaired, tweeted, networked, and questioned. Great job! #ourSCOMmunity #scicomm School of Biological Sciences, UWA

**Recruiting for research** One of our students is looking for Australian-based scientists to interview for her dissertation work. Go to bit.ly/SciCommStudyPIF for more info and bit.ly/SciCommStudy to register interest or email [email protected]

Happy #SciCommSeptember :) A bit about me! I'm Sophie (she/her), Master of Sci Comm student UWASciComm and working with the recfishing gang @FisheriesWA! Interested in human dimensions of recreational fishing and challenges of communicating with recfishers 🎣

New research from #ourSCOMmunity. Taylah Faulkner from @UQ_sees led this work as part of her PhD. Great to see this out! School of Biological Sciences, UWA #sustainability #scicomm #agchatoz #ausaug #beef

Newly published @ JCOM: “ by Exploring Scientists’ Perceptions of Citizen Science for Public Engagement with Science” by Dr Heather Bray & Stephanie Collins – see doi.org/10.22323/2.210… #citsci #scicomm

Next up for #ASCSS2022 is Tamara Pinkerton of UWASciComm. She is speaking on the barriers that exist preventing participation in citizen science. Identifying these obstacles is important for designing inclusive projects that have better outcomes.

So great to hear from Tam Pinkerton about her research at #ASCSS2022 - all about disability inclusion in #CitizenScience! "Inclusion needs to be proactively applied" 👍 Awesome stuff coming out of UWASciComm 🥰

Next up is Clare Boon of UWASciComm She asserts #scicomm has a diversity problem. Her research looked at the lived experience of queer people at university and how their experiences led them to their area of study.
