🎥Mark the 325th anniversary of the last Cascadia earthquake with a screening of the documentary Rumblings! Learn about the risks and preparedness efforts for the Big One at the Art House cinema in Eugene OR on 1/26 from 2-4pm. 🎟️Reserve your free ticket: eugenearthouse.com/event-screenin…

We operate the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network with our colleagues at UW Earth & Space Sci and USGS Earthquakes! The PNSN includes hundreds of seismic monitoring stations. They collect ground motion data that help scientists understand earthquake hazards as well as the Earth's composition.

The mountain is out ⛰️ UW Earth & Space Sci researchers went to Mt. Rainier last weekend to place 240 small seismometers in the park. The seismometers will capture tiny ground vibrations such as earthquakes & glacier quakes with the goal of better understanding surface hazards like avalanches
