Set out for God even if you are broken and limping. He will heal you and give you back your good leg.

Imām Ahmad bin Hanbal was asked: ‘What is the distance between us and the Throne of Allah?’ He replied: ‘A sincere du‘ā’ from a sincere heart.’

When you cultivate your discipline, you develop an intellect. When you place that intellect behind your discipline, you develop willpower.

Part of the mercy of God is that He creates a beautiful world around you, which attracts you to virtue and truth.

Pay attention to each word and be succinct and economical. That will cultivate eloquence and it will make our speech consequential. Make sure that the word that you are about to use is needed. Then the words that remain speak very powerfully.

Nearness to God only comes through servanthood. God is the Real Al-Haq. The closer you get to Him, the more real you become.

There is no reward that you can be given that is greater than to know your Lord.

We are all responsible to spread the Truth. It is the gift of life.

Your heart needs a relationship with the Absolute and Infinite. When we don’t find it in God, we will seek it elsewhere. All the things we seek for, besides God, they will always fail us in the end.

You have perception and presence. You are the manifestation of the Glory of God, who created you. This is a miracle. This is a sign of God.

Human beings are the greatest of all creation with the greatest of tasks and the most awesome of destinies.

All creation is filled with life. All are witnesses. Everything glorifies God, even the inorganic and inanimate.

Our theology exists to declare the total, utter perfection of God.

Our most beautiful moment was when we heard a long time ago ‘Am I not Your Lord’ (VII:172), and that manifestation of God imprinted upon our souls knowledge beyond words.

All religious obedience is meant to teach us about ourselves. It is meant to make us real. You do not know your lord if you do not know yourself.

True obedience (like salah, hajj, and umrah) should lead us to ‘uns and wah’sha. A state where we love to be with God, and a state of estrangement to anything but God.

Discipline yourself. Take on the mantle of humble adab. Your good deeds will then become purely good and your obedience becomes the badge of servanthood.

God created you in wisdom, mercy and goodness. All the shortcomings you have are meant to be a mercy. Have a good opinion of God.
