The face of exquisite evolutionary perfection. With time at the helm, millions of years of natural selection have refined this face into a perfect instrument for radar. And to think some peasants would dare call this consummate product of nature ‘ugly’.

Apex predator of the chenopod shrublands. Did you know a Shingleback can take down an adult kangaroo? It will then jealously guard its prize, feasting for weeks before hunger sees it return to prowling the plains for fresh prey once more.

Bat school is back in session! The team is only a little bit excited as Dr Brad Law shows off the most exciting catch of the day (night?). A tremendous Greater Broad-nosed Bat! Only the 6th time we’ve caught one here in over 1200 bat captures overall!

How do you convince ppl to buy a $5 raffle ticket in a fundraiser to support efforts to rediscover a critically endangered species that no govt agency has funded? Asking for a friend. rafflelink.com.au/earless-dragon

This morning I lay witness to perhaps 20% of the entire Swift Parrot population. Thrill and despair in the same scene. To think they could be extinct within a decade. We need to do more. Their value is greater than that of harvested timber.
