Happy birthday to Sir Arthur Lewis! Having grown up under the British government's racist colour bar, Lewis became Britain's first black Professor when he was recruited to Manchester in 1947/8. In 1979, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for his work on developmental economics. šŸ„‡
