It is with great sadness that we report the passing of Distinguished Professor Emeritus Alvin W. Wolfe. Al came to USF in 1974 to start the MA program in Applied Anthropology. He was very active in Society for Applied Anthro and devoted to the cause of furthering anthropology & social justice

The USF in Romania Field School received a special visit from Provost Prasant Mohapatra, VP of USF World Kiki Caruson, and Education Abroad Director Amanda Mauer. This community-based bioarchaeological project investigates approx 800 years of Transylvanian history

The USF in Romania field school is a community-based bioarchaeological project which seeks to better understand 800 years of Transylvanian history. The project is co-directed by Associate Professor Jonathan Bethard & Dr. Katie Zejdlik

Drs Romero-Daza & Himmelgreen are currently in Costa Rica conducting an interdisciplinary field school (anthropology and environmental engineering) to examine waste water management systems

Congratulations to Dr. Liotta Noche-Dowdy, graduating with her PhD in Applied Anthropology at upcoming Summer Commencement ceremonies! Her dissertation project was entitled, “The Application of Multi-Isotope Analysis to Assist in Geoprofiling Unidentified Decedents in Florida.”

Dr. Caitlynn Carr was invited to give a speech at Commencement today: “I offer a call to action for graduates to pass on kindness and compassion to others as we move forward in our careers, and to reflect on what has helped us get through times of difficulty.”
