Tenants deserve better. We hope the City does everything in their power to tell landlords that neglecting their properties and tenants is not ok.

Just so people who don’t know, know. Judges already order mandatory drug treatment. This is nothing new. People are sent to programs that have little to no oversight or evidence they work and their lives are tied to the completion of them. No one should be forced

VPD Sgt. Steve Addison says it is “silly” that a police car in front of an OPS or SCS would deter people from accessing services. Vancouver Police I suggest reading some of the ample evidence – including SCC law – showing otherwise. VANDU Insiteful Vancouver cbc.ca/news/canada/br…

Having access to washrooms is a basic human need! I can't believe we live in a world where access to washrooms for our most vulnerable people is limited. Having to go to the washroom in the back alley is dehumanizing. DO BETTER ‼️ ctvnews.ca/vancouver/arti…

We all knew it would be a disaster. A government that bases decisions on a handful of angry neighbours never satisfied until people disappear and not on evidence is determined to fail communities in need. cbc.ca/news/canada/ot…

I’m here at the Downtown Eastside Local Area Plan update. They’re trying to be quiet about the upcoming displacement in the DTES disguised as revitalization. But let’s be clear: this isn’t revitalization. It’s erasure. Resist.

So... just checking, Wyatt: You don't support the public funding of the Chinese-Canadian Museum, Vancouver Holocaust Education Centre, The Bill Reid Gallery, The Nk'Mip Desert Cultural Centre...? Is that what you're saying?

My op-ed for Toronto Star: when it comes to encampments, Doug Ford is looking south of the border when he should be looking west. Ontario is importing failed American policies to punish homelessness, while Manitoba is doing what works: housing people. thestar.com/opinion/contri…

This is a win. It shows that one rich guy's whims (Ken Sim) can still be curbed by people's collective action. We got thousands of petition signatures last summer about this issue, supporting the work led by #saveparkboard, Tom Digby 狄弼, Brennan Bastyovanszky - Safe Sports Advocate & many others.

People are stealing because they’re poor. And police don’t fix root causes of problems. But $5M invested in safe supply would reduce poverty and survival-based crime, increase safety for everyone and even save some lives.
