Now in American Political Science Review: What do politicians think about their voters? Fielding face-to-face surveys to 982 sitting politicians in 11 countries, and surveys of 12,000 citizens, we find they have remarkably consistent - and cynical - theories of voters: /1 doi.org/10.1017/S00030…

We have a new working paper on gender backlash. Making use of a new shift-share instrument and Swiss panel data, we find that higher labour market participation of women leads to more gender conservative attitudes among men. They do not translate into far right support, however.

If you can’t accept that the relationship between economic outcomes and attitudes is fundamentally different now, you’re either being politically correct or you’re not paying attention.
