This Saturday, 12noon-5pm, at Riverside Park in #Guelph, come get your #Native #Pollinator-friendly #plants at our joint #PlantSale with Nature Guelph, Guelph Enabling Garden, Guelph Master Gardeners. Don't forget your wagon as you'll want to stock up!

Congratulations to the newly minted Dr. Van Vierssen Trip (Nyssa Trip, PhD). Happy to help celebrate with you this evening. And yes, you are Kind of a Big Deal! Well done!

A big kudos to the 25+ volunteers from PG, the Canadian Conservation Corps Guelph Flex Team and Canadian Wildlife Federation WILD Outside Kitchener-Waterloo team who braved the cool, variable (sun & rain) weather this past Sunday to enhance #habitat at #Guelph’s Clair Road #Pollinator #Meadow.

They collaborated to plant #pollinator-friendly native shrubs, perennials, grasses; spread mulch provided by City of Guelph; weeded aggressive invasives such as Crown Vetch; prepared other areas for planting in 2024; and harvested seeds that will be provided free to other groups.

DYK? The City of Guelph Clair Road Emergency Services site was originally planted in 2013 replacing dying turf grass and a few trees. The site is a great example of how #biodiversity can be significantly improved locally through partnerships, resources, and long-term commitments!
