The U.S. tariffs on #EU steel and aluminum are unjustified & put #transatlantic ties at risk. The EU must respond, but #TradeWars weaken both sides. Instead, targeted measures are the right approach for regimes like Russia and Belarus.

Europe must step up its security – no longer can we rely fully on the US to defend our values & Ukraine’s sovereignty. Ukraine’s security is Europe’s security. No negotiations about Ukraine or European security without the EU at the table. 🔗greens-efa.eu/en/article/let…

A mother burying her child. A city reduced to ashes. A nation bleeding, yet unbroken. For three years, this has been Ukraine’s reality brought by Russia’s war. Yet the country resists, and we will neither turn away, yield, nor let steal what is rightfully Ukraine’s.

Visiting Fincantieri in Venice-one of the world’s largest shipyards. The company is investing in clean tech to achieve climate-neutral cruise ships by 2035. A great industry example of why the European Commission must hold the line on #GreenDeal progress and avoid backtracking.

Really enjoyed talking to DG MEME 🇪🇺, possibly the most feared and beloved force in Brussels.🙂 What started as a conversation about my time as Commissioner turned into a deep dive into my political journey-plus a few things I didn’t expect to share.

At a steel factory with ITRE Committee Press on #CleanIndustrialDeal day. Steel & other energy-intensive industries make up 20%+ of 🇪🇺 emissions. Their green transition needs years & billions. They need certainty on rules, costs & support to invest in cleaner tech & stay competitive.

Once, the truth about the Soviet occupation of the #Baltics was ‘inconvenient.’ Now, calling Russia’s war against #Ukraine what it is has become ‘disrespectful.’ President Donald J. Trump is frustrated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський won’t play along. But capitulation can’t be called peace.

Every euro spent on Russian gas funds bombs falling on #Ukraine. Yet in 2025, some 🇪🇺EU countries are still fueling Putin’s war. This is a betrayal. We must cut Russian energy now, not in 2027. Scaling up #renewables and efficiency is our strongest defense. No more excuses.

Sent a letter to Ursula von der Leyen, backed by 50 MEPs, urging the EU to defend Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. For decades, #RFE has been a beacon of free journalism where press freedom is under threat. Trump’s executive order now puts its future at risk. The EU must act to protect independent journalism.

🇪🇺 Europe still relies too much on imported energy, and that’s a risk we can’t afford. As #AI and the digital economy grow, so does energy demand. Smarter energy use is no longer optional, it’s essential for Europe’s security and resilience.

Russia bombed #Sumy on Palm Sunday- not by accident, but with intent. It was a message: that no day is sacred, no civilian safe. Peace talks only work when both sides seek peace. Right now, one side fires missiles & the other buries its dead.

Happy Easter!☀️ In times of uncertainty, we return to the values that have shaped us - peace, dignity, hope. May this day renew our belief in what holds us together: strong families, resilient communities, and the quiet strength of gratitude.

Today is a sad day💔 Pope Francis was a rare moral voice in our world - humble, compassionate, unafraid to speak for the planet and those on its margins. I’ll always be grateful for Laudato Si and the hope it gave. Rest in peace, the people’s Pope.

I’ve answered a lot of tough questions over the years and I wouldn’t want it any other way. A free press keeps us sharp, honest, and human. Thank you for doing the work. #WorldPressFreedomDay

The new U.S. tariffs don’t just hit #trade, they also hit trust. €500B in 🇪🇺EU exports are now at risk 📉. We’re responding with unity and calm: fair countermeasures and an open door to dialogue. And we don’t seek confrontation but we won’t back down on fairness.

No continent is perfect. But only one turned centuries of conflict into a daily project of peace. Europe isn’t finished-it’s alive, debated, sometimes messy and always ours to shape. Happy #EuropeDay!🇪🇺💙

Today the European Parliament said: enough. Enough loopholes. Enough quiet billions flowing to the Kremlin. We voted to finally close the backdoor-Russian #fertilisers, tariff-free agri imports, all of it. Trade should strengthen #Europe, not subsidise war.

True #energy sovereignty doesn’t come from swapping one authoritarian regime’s fossil fuels for another’s. It comes from #renewables and modern grids. #Europe must stop giving money to warmongers, and start powering #peace. 🎥 Virginijus Sinkevičius

Thank you, Minister Chris Bonett, for the warm welcome. As TRAN Committee members, we’re here to understand the real transport challenges on the ground and how EU policy can support smarter infrastructure, greener mobility, and stronger connections for all Europeans. 🇲🇹🇪🇺

A thoughtful exchange with Minister Clint Camilleri on how 🇪🇺EU investments can better serve regions like Gozo - through smarter #transport, stronger #connectivity, and sustainable tourism. No community should be left behind.
