Visiting Fincantieri in Venice-one of the world’s largest shipyards. The company is investing in clean tech to achieve climate-neutral cruise ships by 2035. A great industry example of why the European Commission must hold the line on #GreenDeal progress and avoid backtracking.

Really enjoyed talking to DG MEME 🇪🇺, possibly the most feared and beloved force in Brussels.🙂 What started as a conversation about my time as Commissioner turned into a deep dive into my political journey-plus a few things I didn’t expect to share.

At a steel factory with ITRE Committee Press on #CleanIndustrialDeal day. Steel & other energy-intensive industries make up 20%+ of 🇪🇺 emissions. Their green transition needs years & billions. They need certainty on rules, costs & support to invest in cleaner tech & stay competitive.

Once, the truth about the Soviet occupation of the #Baltics was ‘inconvenient.’ Now, calling Russia’s war against #Ukraine what it is has become ‘disrespectful.’ President Donald J. Trump is frustrated that Volodymyr Zelenskyy / Володимир Зеленський won’t play along. But capitulation can’t be called peace.

Sent a letter to Ursula von der Leyen, backed by 50 MEPs, urging the EU to defend Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. For decades, #RFE has been a beacon of free journalism where press freedom is under threat. Trump’s executive order now puts its future at risk. The EU must act to protect independent journalism.

Today the European Parliament said: enough. Enough loopholes. Enough quiet billions flowing to the Kremlin. We voted to finally close the backdoor-Russian #fertilisers, tariff-free agri imports, all of it. Trade should strengthen #Europe, not subsidise war.

True #energy sovereignty doesn’t come from swapping one authoritarian regime’s fossil fuels for another’s. It comes from #renewables and modern grids. #Europe must stop giving money to warmongers, and start powering #peace. 🎥 Virginijus Sinkevičius

Thank you, Minister Chris Bonett, for the warm welcome. As TRAN Committee members, we’re here to understand the real transport challenges on the ground and how EU policy can support smarter infrastructure, greener mobility, and stronger connections for all Europeans. 🇲🇹🇪🇺

A thoughtful exchange with Minister Clint Camilleri on how 🇪🇺EU investments can better serve regions like Gozo - through smarter #transport, stronger #connectivity, and sustainable tourism. No community should be left behind.
