In 2009, Barack Obama hosted the first White House Tribal Nations Conference. We talked jobs, energy, and health care with leaders from 564 federally recognized tribes. It was a historic step in addressing the unique needs of Indigenous communities. #NativeAmericanHeritageMonth

This week, I'm in Malawi with @MelindaGates and Amal Clooney as part of our work together to advance gender equality and help end child marriage. We’re visiting programs like AGE Africa that are supporting girls to pursue their dreams.

Child marriage is a major impediment to girls finishing school. Michelle Obama, Melinda French Gates, and Amal Clooney are in Malawi in collaboration with the Girls Opportunity Alliance, @GatesFoundation, and Clooney Foundation for Justice to empower girls and help lift them up.

It’s been a busy few weeks, and I’m looking forward to spending some time this weekend with a good book. Got any recommendations?
