ICYMI: If you see smoke or flames coming from the area of the Valley Forge National Historical Park today or tomorrow, there is no cause for concern. Staff are conducting a prescribed fire in order to control invasive plants and remove dead vegetation. Please do not call 9-1-1.

Prescribed fire operations for this spring have concluded. Fire operations for Wednesday, April 3rd are CANCELED due to weather. The park successfully burned "Field 1" - approximately 106 acres - on Tuesday, April 2nd. "Field 23" may be burned at a future date in 2019.

In accordance with the State of Pennsylvania's direction to close all non-life sustaining operations to curb the spread of COVID-19, all park buildings, facilities, and restrooms at Valley Forge are closed.

We are working to increase access to the park in a phased approach. Grounds, trails and parking lots are now open. Buildings and facilities, including the Visitor Center and Washington's Headquarters remain closed. Some restrooms are open.

Due to extensive flooding and damage in the park, the Visitor Center will open at 11 AM today. Rt 252 is closed from the turnpike to Rt 23. Yellow Springs Rd is closed at Library Ln. Rt 23 is closed at both ends of the park. go.nps.gov/VFSafe
