Another capsule has returned from space to regional South Australia – growing Australia’s reputation as a reliable spaceflight hub. Varda Space Industries successfully returned its Winnebago-3 (W-3) capsule to Southern Launch Koonibba Test Range in South Australia on Wednesday.

And then there were 3. Thank you to Rocket Lab, Southern Launch, SpaceX, and of course Air Force Research Lab - AFRL and NASA.

Build. Test. Fly. Repeat. The more often we fly, the more quickly in-space manufacturing becomes just another link in the global supply chain. Varda has two more missions planned for 2025.

The W-4 capsule is equipped with Varda’s first homemade heatshield, but two of its tiles were made at NASA Ames. This flight will compare the two types of C-PICA—Varda's rapid flight cadence allows researchers to quickly validate materials in the extreme environment of reentry.
