For the 43rd time this year, the ER at the hospital in Lillooet will be temporarily closed due to staffing shortages. Interior Health is directing anyone needing urgent care from 7pm (July 28th) until 8am (July 29th) to visit Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or call 9-1-1.

This lead by Rob Shaw is so damn good. Just wish it wasn't so damn correct: "B.C.’s forestry sector would have been brought to its knees Friday by new American duties on Canadian softwood lumber, if it wasn’t already flat on its back from being hammered by years of provincial

More than 10 drs on BC's rare drug committee have resigned after Josie Osborne 🇨🇦 restored meds to 10-yr-old Charleigh, saying she's undercut public confidence in their work. What a spectacularly delusional misreading of how and why the public lost confidence in the system.

I saw blatant drug dealing at a Pandora facility two yrs ago. While interviewing a support worker, we watched a man sell drugs at a picnic table in the courtyard. A succession of ppl handed him cash & he palmed them drugs in return. Many unwrapped & smoked them a few steps away.

The BC NDP government is dealing with lots of controversies at the moment, but on the issue of reproductive health - programs to cover IUDs and IVF - it has delivered meaningful and positive change. My latest in The Orca: theorca.ca/commentary/rob…

Perhaps why David Eby is suddenly complaining about Ottawa funding Maritime ferries more than BC Ferries is BC NDP's major union allies today (Building Trades, Fed, + more) started embarrassing new campaign to demand BC scrap China deal and build in BC. bcbuildingtrades.org/ferries/

Rob Shaw (@robshaw_bc) 's Twitter Profile Photo

Perhaps another reason for this sudden burst of outrage is that MPs on Friday will convene a committee to grill BC Ferries CEO and others under oath about how contract with the Chinese government was signed, and how much provincial and federal public money is subsidizing that.

NEW - I hear Brian Edwards, former Officer-in-Charge of the Surrey RCMP, has reportedly been hired as the City of Surrey’s new General Manager of Public Safety. I’m told he’ll be setting up a department that doesn’t currently exist. #vanpoli #bcpoli 1/2

Vancouver hires the former CAO of Penticton, who was hammered by the Ombudsperson for auctioning off the home of a vulnerable woman due to a minor tax bill. Refused to accept recommendations, or apologize. 👍 Smooth move Vancouver. theorca.ca/residentpod/a-…
