Our lab at UKE Hamburg is recruiting! We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student to study the circuit dynamics underlying the development of cognitive flexibility. Please RT

I have spent the last 2 days at the retreat of the BCCN Berlin. At a beautiful location we practiced work-lake balance. I shared about my work and my career with students, had several chats with @WritinScientist and was inspired by Mariya Toneva. Thanks!

For the past 10 days I visited the lab of Alan Emanuel to develop our project on modeling and understanding computations and activity in the somatosensory system responsible for fine touch. I also trained a bit my low threshold mechanoreceptors (see photo)😀

Meet the IMPRS-BI recruiting faculty: Wiktor Młynarski @samplingRage and his group Universität München look for theoretical principles that explain why neurons and animals behave the way they do. Apply now for a PhD via our joint graduate school IMPRS-BI! 🔔 Application deadline:

Happy to present fresh results on multilayer (deep) spiking networks at the spiking network workshop: snufa.net/2024/. It is an effort to better understand computations in sensory pathways. Collaboration with Alan Emanuel , supervised by Prof. Panzeri. Free online workshop!

I presented our (mine, Alan Emanuel and S.Panzeri’s) preliminary model of neural computations in sensory pathways at the SNUFA workshop: m.youtube.com/watch?v=ZyzJ_D…. See how to efficiently encode, transmit & transform multiple time-dep. signals across brain areas.

In our Learning Club CMC lab (today = Dec 19, Thursday, 2 PM CET), Veronika Koren will tell us about her recent work (elifesciences.org/reviewed-prepr…). If you'd like to attend, send an empty email to virtual-talk-link [email protected] to get the link!

The ClopathLab has a fully funded PhD position open for Oct in Computational Neuroscience at Imperial College London. If you are interested, just send us an informal e-mail!

Bag and poster tube packed for CosyneMeeting 2025. Expecting exciting science and discussions, perhaps also at poster session 1 around poster 129: An Efficient Multilayer Spiking Network as a Model of Ascending Pathways.

Excited to start a new lab at Florida State University this summer! FSU Department of Psychology FSU Neuroscience We’ll study how the brain enables generalization to support decision-making in novel situations. KiraLab.org We’re recruiting—please RT or share with anyone interested!
