Check out our October Editor's Choice article! Lizards have built-in armor called osteoderms and they're not just for protection!🦎New research by Arsalan Marghoub et al. shows these bone-like structures also help lizards when they bite. Author interview: anatomypubs.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/hub/editors-pi…

Congratulations to Arsalan Marghoub on his editors choice article, and interview

Very proud to be part of this collaboration with Alyson Kelvin, which was led by our talented post-doc Dr Sarah Rouhana & some outstanding graduate students Magie Francis & Kathy. We need more of these types collaborations to solve our most pressing health problems.

🐔 have keel bones. They are often (~80% of laying birds) fractured by the end of hens' lives. I am really excited that DK Frie Forsk.fond have decided to fund a project looking at how these fractures relate to the nervous and cardiorespiratory systems and tell us about birds' pain . 1/4

Strongly endorse catherine williams as an exceptional researcher and mentor. Plus this is a great project!

New paper out today in Integrative Organismal Biology. Just in time for Amy Lagorio’s talk at American Association for Anatomy this afternoon! We tried to capture the joys of teaching imaging approaches to a group of students and faculty during Covid. This stuff takes a village. Mizzou Integrative Anatomy academic.oup.com/iob/advance-ar…

African wild dogs have the same well-developed facial muscles that generate the "puppy dog eye" expression in domestic dogs! New research by Leigha Lynch & my team published in The Anatomical Record investigating the mimetic & ear muscles of this amazing species doi.org/10.1002/ar.254…
