The Lab of Yasin Dagdas Yasin Dagdas at the GMI just published a new preprint in bioRxiv, where they report the discovery of a new selective autophagy receptor. The team used comparative cell biology analyses to uncover this new mechanism for protein quality control in plants.

IRE1, crucial for ER homeostasis, forms clusters on the ER to initiate UPR signaling during proteotoxic stress. But what is it actually that regulates IRE1 cluster formation❓ ➡️All revealed in this publication from the lab of Elif Karagöz Max Perutz Labs Vienna 👇

The life of each one of us began when a sperm and an egg came together. But what actually happens at a molecular level? Our latest work @PauliGroup Cell Press reveals a conserved fertilization complex that bridges sperm and egg in vertebrates! (1/8) cell.com/cell/fulltext/…
