They were awarded for their huge contribution to paleontological research and their commitment with the Asociación Paleontológica Argentina. All of them acting as editors of Ameghiniana - a gondwanan paleontological journal, PE-APA Journal (Open Access) (Esperanza), and Mercedes was also the APA delegate in Mendoza from 1985 through 2018.
