Today, honoured individuals contributing to improve lives of older persons through SHEOWS. In India, 10% pop’n is above 60 years which is likely to increase to 20% by 2047. NHRC is focussing on the rights & well-being of older persons and working with the Govts, doctors & NGOs.

Spoke to the packed house at World Bank Group/ IMF Springs Meet at Washington DC on Empowering Cities. Highlighted India’s to work with speed & scale to ensure basic amenities, quality of life, Jal Jeevan Mission, SBM, Urban Challenge Funds, water security, sustainability, etc.

It was a privilege to speak at the conference held at Eastern Army Command HQ, Vijay Durg (earlier Fort Williams), Kolkata on various dimensions of human rights in counter-insurgency and counter- terrorism operations. The Q&A was exceptionally insightful, which I enjoyed most.
