Oh yeah and I might have gotten some awards too! Honored to receive the 1st Place Oral Presentation and Overall Best Presentation trainee awards from CARNet. I like to think the Canada tie clip gave me the edge in a tight competition.

Happy LGBTQ+ in STEM day! I’m lucky to work in a very supportive institute, but many aren’t. The stats: - 57% higher risk of burn out in clinical academics - 50% consider leaving due to discrimination - 33% advised not to come out - 10% less students stay in STEM 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

Yesterday during a lab meeting, my mentor informed me that I may no longer progress in my career due to my so-called 'infamy.' I was told that I was to blame for the challenges I've been facing in publishing my work—that my 'negative' political activism might be provoking the

Stoked to have won this year’s Physiology & Anatomy Three-Minute Thesis (#3MT) competition at UNTHSC - Biomedical & Translational Sciences! Shout out to dams and aqueducts for giving me a fun analogy for my research with blood flow redistribution. Also congrats to my twinner Caroline Counts repping Anatomy!

🚨Apparently all NIH Study Sections have been suspended indefinitely. For those who don’t know, this means there won’t be any review of grants submitted to NIH Depending on how long this goes on for, this could lead to an interruption in billions in research funding.
