I am very proud to have contributed to this amazing preprint on notochord (🫶🏼) enhancers by generating an inducible reporter cell line. Congratulations to Dennis (at the MPI for Molecular Genetics) and all the authors for this incredible work🥂🎉 You can check it out here:

‘Human extra-embryoids’ is finally out in nature! First publication from the Sozen lab delving into the intricate dynamics of signalling and tissue interactions between the epi- and hypo- like cells in a human stem cell model. Check out our paper and tweetorial! 👇🏻

Do take a look at this exciting preprint (and my first!) linking metabolism with developmental fate in models of early embryogenesis, pioneering work led by Alba Villaronga and Ryan Savill. Honoured to contribute my bit at my time in teamstembryo!

Our new work is out today! Long time in the oven, this has been a really fun and informative collaboration led by Dhanur Iyer in my lab and Heidar from Nicolas Rivron lab. We show that human embryonic cells have an inherent potential to regulate their developmental timing.

📢 Check our new piece! We conceptualize stem-cell-based embryo models as developmental monstrosities, which can uncover ‘hidden’ rules & developmental constraints that robustly shape & pattern the embryo. Congrats to our colleagues Alba Villaronga Ryan Savill teamstembryo for showing that phenotypic variation in stem cell-based embryo models can be traced back to an early imbalance between OxPhos and glycolysis!!!🙌🎉

So happy to finally see this project out in Cell Stem Cell! If you want to find out how we integrate expression data with image-based data, predict phenotypes based on imaging and discover metabolism as a key driver of variation (and so much more) please give it a read. 1/2

🔎Vikas Trivedi lab (EMBL Barcelona) and jesse veenvliet @jesseveenvliet.bsky.social team (MPI-CBG Dresden) have independently found that glycolysis plays a much more active role in embryonic development than previously thought, revealing glycolysis’s dual role: metabolic and instructive.
