A wonderful session at UCT Summer school, and a very humbling introduction by Neil Manthorp - thank you so much and thank you to all who attended!

The summer I left school in 1980 I watched a lot of county cricket. I remember thinking over the years that followed when I retired I would again be able to spend summers watching the county game. It's now increasingly unlikely there will be much left to watch in the years ahead

Quite a lot of interest in yesterday's picture from Middlesex v Derbyshire at Uxbridge, August 21st 1980. Here's another one I took that day, the veteran Fred Titmus bowling with Vince van der Bijl lurking at mid on. Titmus, 47, came out of retirement to play five matches
