Metoecus paradoxus is a curious little beetle, which looks more like a fly. Unusually for a beetle this is a parasite of wasp grubs, which it consumes within their nest cells. Never particularly common, so was nice to find this female along the garden path today. Coleopterists Society of Britain and Ireland

We have submitted all our 2023 bat records to the local data centres and our team have observed 1640 roosting bats at 56 sites.
