“There is more to know than what you can count.” Love Dr Kevin Fong ❤️ The human cost of the pandemic — especially to the medical profession — is inestimable. Thank God for those who put their own lives on the line in impossible circumstances

How can you embrace ambition without losing yourself? Join Viv Groskop & stefanstern at Wimbledon BookFest for an insightful conversation on ambition, confidence, and how we define success 🗓️ Sat 26th Oct, 6pm @ Wimbledon High School 🎟️Tickets & Info: wimbledonbookfest.org/events/stefan-…

The discussion “Let's Win this War Together: The Untold Stories from Ukraine and the Responsibility of the Media” organized by the “Your City” media hub at the 31st Book Forum Lviv, united Ukrainian media experts, foreign journalists & scholars. Discussion highlights ⬇️

Terrell Jermaine Starr, the founder and host of the Black Diplomats YouTube channel, raised the question of why Western media are not more eager to hire Ukrainian journalists as bureau chiefs. “I think this bias reason is weaponized against us in many respects,” he added.

“We should listen to Ukrainians and advocate for their rights. They have universal rights to democracy, sovereignty, and freedom. That's the world we all want to see, and I think we should move toward that, starting in Ukraine.” — Murtaza Hussain, reporter at The Intercept.

“The elephant in the room for me is the term 'Ukraine fatigue.' If we're asking how we can stay engaged and win this war together, we need to focus on keeping human stories alive—those behind the headlines, from places no longer in the news.” — Viv Groskop, writer and journalist.

“This war is a turning point in history, and not only is Ukraine in danger—our democracy is in danger. The reason is that totalitarian countries are united, but the democratic world is not. We are struggling to defend ourselves.” — Abduweli Ayup, linguist and poet.

Thanks to Lviv Media Forum for hosting this discussion. How we cover conflicts, human stories, aftermath and political implications is hugely under-discussed — especially against the backdrop of the waning of legacy media
