Volocopter makes forward strides in the air and on the ground! Parallel to flight testing, our team is assembling the fourth and fifth #VoloCity aircraft. This progress is a testament to our decade-long design excellence, development prowess, and leadership in the #eVTOL sector.

This month's #EmployeeSpotlight is on Darko Sabljo, a Hardware Systems Engineer in our Avionics and Flight Controls department. Darko supports critical projects and even steps in as a remote-control test pilot when needed, embodying the true sense of team spirit at Volocopter!

New milestone unlocked! We’ve officially completed 75% of the audits required to obtain Type Certification (TC) from EASA for our #VoloCity, following the successful Electric Propulsion System (EPS) audit with agency auditors on-site.

In the #EMS world, active collision mitigation tools enable faster and safer flights to emergency incident sites. Volocopter and ADAC Luftrettung have begun a successful series of #VoloCity flight tests to detect multiple aircraft in various airspaces. More to come next year!

We conducted Electric Propulsion Unit (EPU) failure tests, intentionally triggering single & dual motor failures to demonstrate that the #VoloCity aircraft performs as expected under EASA safety standards—highlighting its robust redundancy for safe flight in urban environments.

We rigorously test all systems and updates in the #VoloCity aircraft, starting with remotely controlled flights to gather data. Only after completing uncrewed flight testing do we proceed to crewed flights, ensuring maximum safety & compliance with EASA requirements!

#VoloCity flight testing remains Volocopter's top priority and operational norm. We're expanding the flight envelope to fly faster, higher, and longer, demonstrating our commitment to electrifying aviation with our #eVTOL aircraft.

Volocopter completed multiple flight tests in a week to enhance #VoloCity capabilities! We flew at a 54-knot airspeed, conducted high-speed control response testing, stepped to 60 knots VD airspeed, completed four high-speed single motor & three double motor failure test points.

Another key certification milestone, unlocked! We tested the backup flight control computer (BFC) of the #VoloCity to ensure it can safely take over in case of primary computers’ failures, to comply with aviation’s highest safety standards. Listen in to get more insights.

Every day, our team diligently works on our aircraft, certification roadmap, and company goals. Recently, our mechanical engineering team has been preparing for some important structural tests to demonstrate we meet performance requirements and uphold our high safety standards.

🌞 Spring has been delightful! With sunny days and max wind gusts of 20 knots, our team is diligently validating aircraft systems. We collected data at speeds between 44-55 knots at low altitudes, ensuring functionality and safe operations.

At Volocopter, safety and reliability are our priorities. The Iron Bird, a ground-based test rig, simulates the VoloCity system, allowing us to test avionics, flight controls, and electrical systems rigorously. It facilitates iterative testing and enhances overall flight safety.

Since Volocopter's founding, we've pushed innovation in flight controls, avionics, and more, achieving 112 patents in 74 families by May 2025 in key countries like Germany, the UK, USA, and China. Plus, we are excited to have with 80+ more patent applications pending.
