What a fab & fun afternoon, chatting to the public about the incredible things our volunteers and patient reps do here at PHU. Followed by an extremely informative AGM, showcasing some of the amazing things happening at our hospital. I felt extremely proud to be part of it all!

Carole from Guide Dogs provided an excellent ‘Intro to Sighted Guide Training’ session this afternoon for our FLOs, volunteers & voluntary services team. Everyone learnt new tips & found the session informative & thought provoking 🙌👏👏#proudtobeaFLO

We received these beautiful photos from Pets As Therapy volunteer Bev and her best friend Maisie today who brought joy up on the wards today. Maisie loves visiting her regular spot in D10 and we are grateful for the work they both do for our staff and patients 🐶🐾

Louise and Caroline went out into the community this week for a health fair at Community Kettle in Cosham and had a great time sharing information with the public on all things volunteering.

Last week Meg from Pets As Therapy came to visit Portsmouth Hospitals University NHST to discuss the great work our Volunteers and their Dogs do. Meg was shown round the paediatrics ward and she said "I really enjoyed shadowing Sue and her dog Mabel, it is always lovely to see the difference it makes."

Last week, we celebrated Volunteer Alan who has parked his delivery trolley after 18 years at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHST. Alan said he 'Loved volunteering in the pharmacy. They treat me like one of the team.' We are grateful to Alan and the time he has given to PHU. We wish him all the best🥰

A massive congratulations to our volunteer Val who has raised an incredible £1000 for our Paediatrics Emergency Department⭐️ Val is very talented and creative and ran a raffle for staff at Portsmouth Hospitals University NHST to win two stuffed animals that she knitted at home. An incredible achievement!

What an exciting day for Portsmouth Hospitals University NHST! We are so lucky that over 30 of our volunteers have offered to help across 50+ shifts in our new ED this week. We absolutely love pawsitive feedback about our Pets As Therapy teams and the joy they bring staff and patients. The Rheumatology team have really loved their visits from the dogs and their owners and have created a 'Wall of Fame' to display they visits.
