Anne Jordan won our "Lifetime Achievement Award". Anne started volunteering in 1989 with Citizens' Information, helped found Dochas for Women, began supporting Congolese refugees in 2009 and founded Monaghan Failte Isteach English classes, where she continues to tutor. 🏆🏆👏😃

On Tuesday we & MID SICAP jointly hosted a Christmas gathering. Our guests were the volunteer tutors from Failte Isteach groups in Monaghan Town, Clones and Carrickmacross. It was lovely to hear their experiences of volunteering and what they have learned from the experience.

Sinéad and Liza were out and about in Clones this morning. We presented certificates to the women who completed their 8 week volunteer wellness programme The PEACE Link and met with Liam of YWI Cavan/Monaghan to see the "Welcome" mural painted by a group of young people.

Liza met with Anthony Bannon from SVP today to hand over Christmas gifts for SVP Meals on Wheels clients. Gifts were crafted by the volunteers of our Craft & Chat group and include items blankets, hats, and chains for glasses, plus a few extra treats like chocolate.

Monaghan Volunteer Centre staff are taking a break over Christmas but you can always browse and apply for volunteer roles at volunteermonaghan.ie Merry Christmas and we look forward to working with you again in 2024.
