Today we’re thrilled to feature one of our wonderful Midwest partner campaigns: Betty McCollum for Congress in #MN04! McCollum Fellows have been hard at work marching in parades, getting hands-on experience in field operations, and connecting with voters in every corner of the district.

Team Betty has been out and about throughout the 4th District this summer with stops the past few weeks at Afton 4th of July, Marketfest in White Bear Lake, and Chicano Fest in Saint Paul to hear directly from voters about their concerns and priorities for us in Congress.

Last night, I led House Democrats in opposing Republicans' defense spending bill. Their bill undermines our military readiness, weakens our national security, limits access to reproductive healthcare for women service members, and attacks LGBTQ troops. I voted no.

Republicans know their Big Ugly Law to kick people off their healthcare and give tax breaks to billionaires will cost them the House. That's why they're trying to rig our democracy by redrawing the congressional maps seven years early to fortify their narrow majority.

Hidden 400 pages into the Big Ugly Bill, Republicans deregulated gun silencers by removing the $200 tax, making access to dangerous firearm accessories that are banned in some states even easier to obtain and conceal.
