Tom - one of the (many) issues with the ill-conceived plans on Oxford Street is that they will push more traffic through the areas around the street, including #Soho, as well as #Fitzrovia, #Mayfair and #Marylebone. The opposite of what it sounds like you want to see. Businesses

The #WestEnd is home to about 10% of UK GVA - this really is the engine room of huge parts of our economy. But the businesses this hits are not the ones with the biggest profits, but the shops and hospitality businesses already buckling under the Chancellor's NI rises - own goal

It seemed to be happening before it was widely reported. Just progressed with too much speed to become an issue that anyone was talking about. Contrast with the very long debate about end of life.

On Monday after *45 minutes* of debate, the Commons voted that you can kill a baby the day before he or she is to be born, and face no legal consequences. Today the Commons will spend over *5 hours* having "general debates" on "incontinence" and "water safety"

One in five UK #pubs ā€˜technically insolvent’ Reeves’ choice of NI as the income raiser was always going to hit smaller businesses harder than chains. Local people generally want more independents but the Chancellor is making it too hard for them cityam.com/reeves-tax-hik…

Today he has compared himself to the tyrannical vote-rigger that is the Supreme Leader of North Korea... He really does seem to see himself as above everyone else, particularly the people he is supposed to be serving: Londoners

Andrew, ICYMI, he was referring to the votes for Oxford St pedestrianisation rather than his own election. His point was that 2/3 of 6,500 in the consultation was a big mandate. We would see 2,000 respond on traffic light changes in Soho! No mandate whatsoever.

Andrew, sorry, you are behind the times, again. When I ran for parliament last year, I visited several times, went in to homes of people in distress, agreed it had been bad under Conservatives, too, and apologised. But now it's been acknowledged, it's still not being fixed.
