Interesting that Huntington's disease (HD) researchers do not claim that CAG repeats cause suicide in HD patients. In contrast, some #CTE researchers characterize suicide as a core symptom, resulting from the presence of abnormal tau. Go figure. n.neurology.org/content/92/14/…

I am happy to announce that I am retiring today from my full-time position as a clinician, educator, and researcher at NYU Medical Center. I have learned a lot from my patients, students, and colleagues over the past 23 years here at NYU. On to a new chapter!

I will be maintaining my faculty status at NYU on a part-time basis for continued teaching and research in addition to starting a private practice (part-time) specializing in forensic neuropsychology. Plan on hearing more from me on Twitter!

Adolescents with ADHD exhibit greater diminishment in cognitive functioning following #concussion . No difference from non-ADHD adolescents in symptom reporting; however, there were group differences in endorsement rates for several individual symptoms. tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.108…

High blood pressure in midlife affects cognition in later life. Great to see this published. Too many retired athletes don't recognise the importance of monitoring blood pressure in mid life. Focus is on effects of brain injury. Hypertension is modifiable journals.lww.com/jhypertension/…

BU Experts Boston University CTE Center annmckee STAT Adina Wise, MD Statements like "contact sports cause CTE" are misleading and a major component of why the narrative is outpacing the science. "CTE is associated with playing contact sports in former athletes who donated their brain to a CTE brain bank" would be more appropriate.
