#Somalia’s smallholder farmers like Fartun are being empowered to face droughts and floods. With support from World Food Programme, they are adopting farming practices that boost productivity, strengthen local economies, and enhance community resilience. #UNFSS2025 UN Food Systems Coordination Hub

In #Somalia, World Food Programme provides cash assistance to those who need it most to meet their emergency food needs. This support provides people with the flexibility to buy fresh, nutritious food & other basic essentials, with thanks to partners like EU Civil Protection & Humanitarian Aid 🇪🇺.

In #Somalia, World Food Programme works with the Ministry of Health & partners to promote #breastfeeding as a life-saving practice. By providing nutritional support & guidance, we ensure that every mother gives her child a healthy start through exclusive breastfeeding & complementary feeding.

A proud day for World Food Programme as we open the Berbera Logistics Hub, a crucial and strategic point for operations in Eastern Africa. Honored to do this jointly with my brother and counterpart from WFP Ethiopia, Zlatan Milišić.

“Zero Hunger is mission possible.” Wrapping up the #UNFSS2025, El-Khidir Daloum shares his insights: ➡️#Somalia’s partnerships are driving transformation ➡️School meals link food systems to agriculture & resilience ➡️Advancing food systems in conflict zones

Proud to stand with our WFP Somalia team in Baidoa, one of Somalia’s most critical hunger hotspots. With a high influx of displaced families, this team is constantly on the move, delivering around the clock. Honored to serve alongside these incredible men and women.

⚠️Over 230,000 people have been displaced this year due to conflict and drought. 🚨4 m face critical levels of hunger and 1.8 m children are at risk of acute malnutrition. World Food Programme is currently reaching just 20% of people in urgent need, leaving millions without life-saving support

As the largest humanitarian agency in Somalia, World Food Programme delivers emergency food and recovery support to even the hardest-to-reach areas. However, as critical needs rise, funding shortfalls are forcing us to leave the vast majority of people without any support.

As drought in the north forces families to sell their assets or survive on one meal a day, conflict in the south is displacing hundreds of thousands. World Food Programme is responding to the growing emergency needs, but funding gaps are forcing to leave the vast majority without any support.

With funding from the Republic of Korea 🇰🇷, World Food Programme is working directly with communities to support smallholder farmers in strengthening their resilience and improving food security through our regional KOICA-WFP project.

Participated in this week's SODMA Somalia-led national consultation for Somalia's Anticipatory Action Roadmap, focusing on early warning, early action & coordination. World Food Programme remains committed to working with government & partners to strengthen disaster preparedness in #Somalia.
