WFP runs the largest humanitarian supply chain in #SouthSudan, moving food by road, river & air, and pre-positioning it in warehouses across the country🚚 This enables World Food Programme to respond swiftly when emergencies strike💪🏿

Over 4M people have fled Sudan into neighbouring countries. At the United Nations Geneva briefing today, Shaun Hughes, called on the international community to mobilise urgent resources to sustain food & nutrition assistance for Sudan’s refugees + the host communities. #KeepEyesOnSudan

From #Sudan to #DRC, conflict and climate are driving millions from their homes. 🚨World Food Programme supports over 6M refugees in 20+ African countries—but funding shortfalls mean families are going hungry, children miss school, and lifelines are breaking.

.World Food Programme is supporting Sudanese refugees across 7+ countries—providing hot meals and nutrition to families fleeing conflict. But funding is running dry. ⏳In #Chad, #Ethiopia & #Uganda, assistance could halt within weeks unless urgent support arrives.

Extreme hunger is spreading in #Sudan. World Food Programme fed 5M+ people last month––a record. Millions more remain hungry, especially in the besieged cities El Fasher & Kadugli. We are doing everything possible to get aid in, but we urgently need safe passage, security guarantees + funding.

Without proper #nutrition, children face lifelong consequences. With our partners in #Uganda, World Food Programme has helped create METU, a powerful mix of local ingredients 🥜

🔴 In #SouthSudan, 1.2M pregnant and breastfeeding women and 2.3M children are at risk of malnutrition. World Food Programme is providing specialized food and nutrition training—so mothers can stay strong and give their children the healthy start they deserve.

After more than 4 months without access, World Food Programme has resumed emergency airdrops in #SouthSudan’s Upper Nile State. Floods and conflict have cut off thousands facing catastrophic hunger. Airdrops are their only lifeline. ✈️ 🔗 ow.ly/GN4850WltuR

WFP is airdropping emergency food to families in #SouthSudan’s Upper Nile State, where conflict has forced 50,000+ people to flee to 🇪🇹 In #Gambella, World Food Programme is providing fortified biscuits & life-saving nutrition support to children, pregnant & breastfeeding women to new arrivals.

When refugees arrive with nothing, World Food Programme is there - with food, school meals, & nutrition support. In #Uganda, most now receive just 20% of their food needs. Help us keep this lifeline strong, so families can focus on their futures, not fear for their next meal.

In the first half of this year, WFP South Sudan helped push back catastrophic hunger in areas of Jonglei State through regular deliveries of food assistance. World Food Programme aims to reach 470,000 people in Upper Nile and Northern Jonglei through the lean season.

“Our job in logistics is not just to move food - it’s about using our resources wisely” Sahir Aslam, Head of Logistics, WFP Uganda. In 2024, World Food Programme moved 173,000 MT of food to 545 hard-to-reach locations across the country. Watch one of those dispatches in action ⤵️

Zeinab fled #Sudan with her children 8 months ago. Now in #Ethiopia, they rely on World Food Programme’s monthly food assistance—delivered as cash transfers—to meet their basic needs. But without urgent funding, WFP will be forced to scale back this life-saving support.
