Back from my fourth visit to #Gaza since the conflict began. The situation is the worst I’ve seen. Needs are higher than ever, and our ability to respond has never been more constrained. Starvation is spreading - people are dying just trying to find food.

Our Gaza teams are making every effort to deliver. They're often caught in crossfire, escorting food convoys through combat zones. We’re running out of fuel, spare parts, basic comms equipment. Our national staff live in the crisis, facing the same dangers & hunger as all Gazans.

World Food Programme WFP in the Middle East & North Africa We have the food, capacity, and readiness to deliver. During the last ceasefire, we got 8,000 trucks into #Gaza in 42 days. We can do it again. But we need all routes and entry points to open, and we need safety. And a ceasefire, which must also be a step toward lasting peace.

Visited newly displaced Syrians in North Lebanon - families living in really difficult conditions. WFP, with partners, has been responding since day one, reaching 1000s of families with food, inside & outside shelters. Together, we're on the ground & ready to support further.

Hundreds have been forced to flee as wildfires spread in northwestern #Syria. World Food Programme has begun distributing ready-to-eat food rations to farmers affected by the fire in #Lattakia & prepositioning food for people in the coastal areas, which can support 2000 people for 5 days.
