Excellent collaboration between UN Women Tanzania WFP Tanzania FAO in Tanzania IFADTanzania in advancing economic empowerment of rural women, through UN JP Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment in Tanzania. Asante sana Norway MFA Sweden Swiss MFA and Ireland for the support.

At Mnang’ana village, Norway MFA and Swiss MFA visited a home kitchen garden & an innovative sunflower farm. 🌻 They witnessed firsthand how UN JP Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment women farmers learn to grow & sell high quality, pure seeds - boosting local agriculture & empowering communities.💪 #ZeroHunger


Wrapping up in the mainland, the delegation heads to Zanzibar to continue engagements on women’s empowerment & food security under the UN JP Rural Women’s Economic Empowerment program. In Zanzibar, the project strengthens women’s capacity in the seaweed 🌊and horticulture value chains 🥕🍅. #ZeroHunger



In partnership with Sustainable Energy for All | #SDG7BeBold & Tanzania National Carbon Monitoring Centre (NCMC), World Food Programme is bringing clean cooking to 50 schools across #Tanzania's Dar es Salaam, Dodoma, Tabora & Kigoma. With UK in Tanzania’s support, schools will receive electric pressure cookers—slashing carbon emissions by 40,000+ tonnes!🌱


Yesterday at the clean cooking project workshop at Likwati Primary School, 🇬🇧 High Commissioner Marianne Young FCDO & WFP Tanzania’s Ronald Tran Ba Huy engaged with gov education officers, led a book reading session📚 & served up a tasty lunch prepared with electric pressure cookers! 🍽️
