On the margins of #CSW69, African Union Women, Gender & Youth Directorate, UN Women, & AWLNetwork convened today a high-level event that brought together global leaders to mark the adoption of the #AUEVAWGConvention. The event also served as a platform to strategize on advancing ratification by Member States.

We say we are dying because women & girls are dying on a daily basis. The #AUEVAWGConvention on paper will save us no people. We want it implemented. We want it ratified. African Union Women, Gender & Youth Directorate's Director, Ms. @maprude, is participating in #G20's First Global Partnership for Financial Inclusion (GPFI) 2025 Meeting in Pretoria, SA. The GPFI seeks to expand access and enhance the usage of financial services, particularly in countries with substantial gaps.

Yesterday, Prudence Ngwenya took part in a parallel session at #ARFSD11 on the review of progress made, peer-to-peer learning, and acceleration measures to achieve gender equality and women's empowerment in #Africa in line with #Agenda2063 goals and #SDGs.

Today, I had the pleasure of welcoming 9 new AU Youth Volunteers who are deployed to the African Union. I encouraged them to be proactive and ensure that they use this experience as a learning opportunity to broaden their skills & competencies as they advance in their career.
