Gender is separate from biological sex. Gender identity is the way a person identifies internally and can be the same as their sex (cis) or can be different to their sex (trans). Identity can also be non-binary, that is it doesn't sit comfortably with man or woman #30DaysOfPride

Gender expression refers to how a person represents themselves to the world. Whilst gender identity is the internal sense of gender, gender expression is how they choose to express their gender externally through the way they dress, mannerisms, pronouns, etc. #30DaysOfPride
