In her remarks, WHOMalawi Rep Dr. Neema Rusibamayila Kimambo stated that prevention is better than cure & achieves healthier outcomes for all. Citing that community engagement, awareness & education has promoted handwashing, mask-wearing, vaccine intake & has controlled diseases like #polio in 🇲🇼


The meeting organized by Ministry of Health, Malawi and Malawi Institute of Journalism is supported by various organizations and has gathered multisectoral stakeholders including traditional leaders such as Traditional Authority Chowe of Mangochi with over 12 abstracts to be presented.



The highlight of the Health Promotion Conference was when Ministry of Health, Malawi Hon Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda MP accompanied by WHOMalawi Dr. Neema Rusibamayila Kimambo interacted with the youth live on "Youth Alert" Family Health Services radio programme, a life skills programme designed to prevent STI's and unwanted pregnancies.

The Minister of Health Hon Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda MP supervised measles vaccination sites in Biwi & Namthenje Health Centres in Lilongwe 🇲🇼. She reiterated Ministry of Health, Malawi's commitment to strengthening routine immunization services & reaching every child, especially in hard-to-reach areas.


The Secretary of Ministry of Health, Malawi & team joined vaccination teams as part of the ongoing Measles Rubella Campaign in 🇲🇼. In line with the HSSP 3, the campaign is integrated to provide enhanced advocacy for vaccine uptake including Human Papilloma Virus vaccines. #Vaccineswork
