A single dose can save a child's future. Thanks to community leaders like Baba Moyo in Nkayi, we're working to ensure every child is protected. In Harare, road shows are taking place whilst teams are also visiting school to ensure no child is left behind. #poliocampaign

Handwashing with soap 🧼 & water 💦 prior to contact with food (e.g., during preparation, eating, or feeding), after contact with feces, and after providing care to those sick with cholera is necessary to help stop the spread of the disease 🦠

Zimbabwe w/support from WHO African Region has commissioned a newly renovated polio laboratory to enhance analysis of polio samples collected through environmental surveillance. This will significantly reduce turnaround time for results thanks to the financial support from Gates Foundation

It’s #WorldHealthDay! Every day, 800 women die globally from preventable causes related to pregnancy and childbirth, 70% of them in Africa. Most of these deaths can be prevented with timely, quality care. Preventable maternal deaths are a global injustice. We must act urgently.

Today, WHO Zimbabwe commemorated #WorldHealthDay under the theme “Healthy beginnings, hopeful futures.” Maternal & newborn health matters and most neonatal & maternal deaths are preventable. Every mother & newborn deserves a safe start in life. Together, we can make it happen.
